How we work

Assess. Plan. Secure. Support.

Every engagement starts read-only. Nothing changes in your environment without your written approval.

01 — Assess

Know where you stand

A review of your accounts, devices, network, backups and risks, written in plain language.

02 — Plan

Agree what comes first

A prioritised roadmap with a clear scope, timeline and quote.

03 — Secure

Fix and harden

MFA, device management, backups and network fixes, delivered in planned, documented changes.

04 — Support

Keep it running

Helpdesk, monitoring, patching and quarterly reviews so nothing drifts.

Why Maztech

Practitioners who run what they secure.

Operator experience

We have run Microsoft 365, Azure, Entra ID and Active Directory in regulated healthcare and finance. Our advice survives contact with production.

Plain-language reporting

Every finding comes with the business impact, the fix and an owner, written for executives and engineers alike.

One team, whole stack

The same people handle the helpdesk ticket, the firewall, the codebase and the AI assistant, so nothing falls between vendors.

Documented and accountable

Runbooks, network diagrams and change records you own. If we part ways, you keep everything.

Most clients have between 5 and 500 people. We work with single offices and multi-site organisations across the GTA and Durham Region, and remotely across Ontario.

Either. We can take over day-to-day support, or act as senior oversight for an existing provider or in-house team.

Every engagement is quoted after a free consultation. Projects get a fixed scope and quote up front. Ongoing support is a monthly agreement sized to your people and systems.

Yes. We lock the attacker out, investigate sign-in and mailbox logs, clean up, close the gap and write a report you can give to your insurer or regulator.

Where you need it to be. For clinics and regulated firms we use Canadian cloud regions and document where your data lives and who can reach it.

Microsoft 365 and Azure are our core, alongside AWS, Google Workspace, Fortinet, Cisco Meraki and more than 200 other platforms. See the full list.

What we defend against

The attacks that actually hit businesses.

Phishing & account takeover

Credential theft, MFA fatigue and token replay against Microsoft 365 and SaaS.

Ransomware

Initial access, privilege escalation and encryption — stopped by layered controls and tested backups.

Business email compromise

Invoice fraud and payment redirection caught through mail-flow rules, monitoring and staff training.

Third-party & supply chain

Over-privileged vendors, delegated admin access and insecure integrations reviewed and constrained.

Incident response

When an account is compromised.

We have investigated and contained live phishing attacks. This is the order we work in — and every step is written down.

1

Contain

Block sign-in, revoke active sessions and reset credentials so the attacker is locked out.

2

Investigate

Sign-in and audit log forensics: what was accessed, from where, and when.

3

Clean up

Find the malicious email in every mailbox and purge it. Remove rules or app permissions the attacker added.

4

Harden

Close the gap that let them in — usually a Conditional Access or MFA change.

5

Report

A written incident report your compliance officer, insurer or regulator can use.

Penetration testing · PTES + MITRE ATT&CK

How we break in — so others can't.

Every test runs under written rules of engagement, with safe-testing windows agreed in advance.

1

Scope & rules

Targets, objectives, exclusions and emergency contacts agreed and signed.

2

Reconnaissance

OSINT, attack-surface mapping and exposed-service discovery.

3

Discovery

Automated scanning plus manual analysis to find real, exploitable weaknesses.

4

Exploitation

Controlled attacks that prove impact without disrupting operations.

5

Lateral movement

Privilege escalation and attack paths toward your crown-jewel systems.

6

Report & retest

Prioritised findings, a readout session and a retest to verify every fix.

Healthcare IT

Healthcare IT, done by people who've actually run it.

We have run IT for a multi-site, PHIPA-regulated clinic group: the networks, the imaging systems, the security and the budget. That is the experience your clinic gets.

What clinics get

Built around patient data and uptime.

For medical, dental, physiotherapy, specialist and multi-site practices across the GTA and Durham Region.

01

PHIPA-aligned security

MFA and Conditional Access for every account, encrypted devices, tested backups, access reviews when staff leave, and phishing training for front-desk and clinical staff.

02

Clinical & imaging systems

PACS, RIS and DICOM support, routing between sites and vendors, archive recovery, and migrations when you change vendors.

03

Multi-site networks

Firewalls, Wi-Fi and cabling for each location, independent internet per site, secure links to the cloud — and one person who knows how they all connect.

04

Patient data stays in Canada

Cloud hosting and backups in Canadian regions, with clear records of where your data lives and who can reach it.

05

Front desk to back office

Helpdesk for staff, new-hire setup, PC refresh planning, cameras at every location, and vendor management for your EMR, phone and internet providers.

06

Practical AI

Automated intake and requisition processing and AI phone agents, built so patient data is not sent where it shouldn't be.

Financial & professional firms

Senior IT and security for firms that answer to a regulator.

We have been the IT and security function for a Toronto firm registered under NI 31-103. We know what your compliance officer, auditors and institutional investors will ask for.

What firms get

IT that stands up to a compliance review.

For portfolio managers, investment advisors, accounting and law firms — regulated, Microsoft 365 heavy, and phished every week.

01

Phishing-resistant Microsoft 365

Conditional Access built for how attackers target finance today: fake sign-in pages that steal sessions, device-code tricks and phone scams aimed at executives.

02

Incident response you can show a regulator

We investigate the sign-in logs, purge the email across every mailbox, contain the threat and write the report your CCO needs.

03

Policy that matches practice

A review of your cybersecurity policy against CSA Staff Notice 33-322. Regulators flag gaps between what a policy says and what a firm does, so we check both.

04

Vendor & third-party risk

Reviews of what access your MSP and partners hold in your tenant, vendor security questionnaires, and due diligence on data rooms, CRMs and fund administrators.

05

Records & retention

Email, Teams and log retention set to match your books-and-records obligations.

06

Integrations & AI

Connections between your fund administrator, trading, CRM and market-data systems — and AI assistants rolled out with locked-down settings and a written AI-use policy.

About Maztech

A senior IT team, without the full-time headcount.

Maztech Consulting is an Ontario IT consulting firm founded in 2020. We support, secure and modernise IT for clinics, regulated firms and growing businesses across the GTA and Durham Region.

Our story

Big-firm IT leadership, sized for you.

Maztech started in 2020 to give smaller organisations the kind of IT leadership larger firms take for granted. Most businesses don't need a full IT department. They need someone senior who knows their systems, keeps them secure and answers the phone.

Our engineers have run IT for a multi-site medical imaging group and a regulated investment firm. That means real experience with PACS migrations, Microsoft 365 hardening, phishing incidents, compliance reviews and the budgets behind them.

Today we work as an outsourced IT department, a cybersecurity partner, or senior oversight alongside your existing provider. Whichever fits.

How we operate

Four commitments on every engagement.

Plain language

You always know what we're doing, why, and what it costs. No jargon in the reports you read.

Secure by default

MFA, least-privilege access and tested backups are part of every setup, not an upsell.

Documented

Runbooks, diagrams and change records that belong to you, kept current as we work.

Your approval first

We start read-only. Changes to your environment happen only with documented approval.
